About the Event

This class will explore the benefit of grounding into our own ancestral medicine as a tool to cultivate awareness and connection for ethical healing practices. Teacher, Sam Raridon, will address how this work is an essential part of decolonizing holistic medicine and will hold space to unpack guilt and grief surrounding privilege and white supremacy in holistic medicine spaces. This workshop will include grounding exercises, free writes, story telling, dialogue and the sharing of helpful practices to begin creating a foundation for this life long journey.

We will close by learning grounding rituals and making a mugwort smudge.

*Sam Raridon is a community herbalist of germanic, irish, english, french, spanish and lebanese decent living in Pomo Territory (Occidental CA). They have received trainings from Ancestral Apothecary in Oakland, The California School of Herbal Studies in Forestville and from their ancestors that support their healing work in this world. They love to engage with healing as a

liberatory, joyful practice that increases the aliveness of all around them.
