About the Event

We will explore the world of herbal medicine and its connections to the garden and kitchen. Many of our most common kitchen herbs and spices are not only staples in the culinary world, but also boast a variety of medicinal qualities. We will go over the properties and uses of common kitchen medicinals as well as ways to utilize them in cooking, including basic medicine making. This workshop will include herbal-inspired recipe and everyone will create and take home an herbal salt blend and bouquet garni.

* Anna Marie Beauchemin is a trained clinical herbalist, writer, and educator. She is the founder of East Bay Herbals - a community apothecary in Martinez, California dedicated to serving the East Bay community with relatable, accessible, and functional herbal knowledge. She has a strong background in the culinary arts, and loves to work in the space where the herbal and culinary worlds overlap. She offers private and community workshops, herbal wellness consultations, and freelance writing and consulting services.
